When WordPress is the better home
Drupal is powerful, but for many small organisations it is more than they need. Typical signs:
- The site is mostly pages, news and a contact form
- Only one or two people edit it, and they find Drupal hard to use
- You are on Drupal 7, so you have to move anyway
- You want a wider choice of developers and lower running costs
If that sounds like you, moving to WordPress can make the site easier to edit and cheaper to keep up to date. If your site does more than that, we will tell you, and upgrading Drupal may be the better route.
How the migration runs
- Inventory. We list your content types, fields, taxonomies, users, files, URLs and integrations, and map each to its WordPress equivalent.
- Fixed price and plan. One price for a written scope, including what moves, what is rebuilt and what is retired.
- Build. A clean, current WordPress install with a theme that matches your design, and only well-maintained plugins.
- Migrate. Scripted, repeatable imports of content, images and users, so a final run before launch picks up anything new.
- Redirects. Every old Drupal URL mapped to its new address with permanent redirects.
- Launch. Your team tries it on staging, then we switch over with a backup and a rollback plan.
Included

- Your current design rebuilt as a WordPress theme
- 301 redirects for every old URL, and SEO titles and descriptions carried over

Questions we are asked
Should I move from Drupal to WordPress?
It makes sense for brochure sites, blogs and small business sites where a few people edit content. Sites with complex content structures, many user roles, multilingual workflows or heavy integrations are usually better staying on Drupal and upgrading.
What gets migrated?
Pages, articles, news, images and files, taxonomies as categories and tags, authors and, where useful, other users. Custom content types become posts, pages or custom post types.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if the move is done properly. Every old URL either stays the same or is redirected permanently to its new address, and page titles and descriptions are carried over.
Can you keep my design?
Yes. We can rebuild your current design as a WordPress theme, or give the site a fresh look at the same time.
